DARE 2B DIF’RNT RELEASES 2006 ‘COMING OUT’ ANTHEM

The hot new single ‘Please’ is an amazing collaboration between Hi-NRG international club veterans Dare 2B Dif'rnt (A World Of Love, Come To My Window) and popular remix/artists Liquid360 (Chains Of Love, Shake Down).  Destined to be a "Coming Out" anthem, the track recognizes a struggle of life for millions...'Please mom be proud of me, I'm the man I chose to be".  Musically the track also pays tribute to the classic Bronski Beat single ‘Smalltown Boy’ - giving 'Please' an instant punch of familiarity. In addition to the production and remixing, Bruce from Liquid360 also makes a cameo vocal appearance with high falsettos and a classic verse from ‘Smalltown Boy’ adding his touch of respect to Jimmy Somerville

“’Please’ was written for our Moms, basically telling them we love them. It must be hard being a parent and having to accept your child's differences and independence.  We are hoping everyone can benefit from this song because "Love" is universal, especially a Mother's unconditional love. We are hoping the Gay community in particular will benefit from our song because "Acceptance" is the key to our future.” - Paulie D of Dare 2B Dif’rnt

Bronski Beat’s ‘Smalltown Boy’ is a classic tale about a young man coming to terms with his sexuality and having to leave his home town to find acceptance.  “’Smalltown Boy’ remains a singular gesture of innocence, articulating the start of an era of unprecedented freedom for gays by showing their concerns to be integrated with society at large.” (Mike Thorne, Bronski Beat Producer)  Dare 2B Dif’rnt initially had reservations about incorporating such a powerful and well known gay anthem but after consulting some influential DJs from that time, their worries were put to rest…

“Joey Shull, Legends Nightclub, was very encouraging. He said he still played ‘Smalltown Boy’ and thought my idea would resonate with both a gay and straight audience because it came from my heart and was universal.” – Paulie D of Dare 2B Dif’rnt

“Joseph Berliner sat me down and explained the importance of ‘Smalltown Boy’ and how it affected his life and many of his friends. He actually dug in his crate and played it for me. He wanted me to experience its full depth and meaning.  He felt I would be adding to and not taking away from the original and that it could help and affect a whole new generation just like the original did. I never looked back after that day.”  – Paulie D of Dare 2B Dif’rnt

‘Please’ originally appeared on “The Wedding Party” compilation in July 2005 from Tone 1 Music Group which raised money for Gay Rights and Same Sex Marriage Initiatives.  The official single release of ‘Please’ features remixes by Giuseppe D, Chris Brophy, Liquid 360 and original production by Chris "The Greek" Panaghi.  More information including full bio, pic and audio samples can be found at  www.myspace.com/d2bdmusic

"PLEASE"

ALL MY LIFE IVE HEARD THIS SONG
NEVER THOUGHT MINE WOULD BE THE SAME
THE SECRETS I HAD TO HIDE
MEMORIES AND THE PAIN

THERE CAME A TIME
I HAD TO LEAVE
STAND UP FOR
WHAT I BELIEVE

SO IN SILENCE
I LEFT THAT DAY
WITH THE HOPES OF
DOING THINGS MY WAY

CHORUS
PLEASE MOM BE PROUD OF ME
IM THE MAN/WOMAN I CHOSE TO BE
THE STRENGTH IN LIFE I GOT FROM YOU
IS WHAT I NEED TO MAKE IT THROUGH

LAST THING I REMEMBER
WERE THE TEARS IN HER EYES
AS I TURNED MY HEAD
SHE WENT INSIDE

NOW THAT VISION
HAUNTS MY MIND
AS MY CHILDHOOD
WAS LEFT BEHIND

WHATEVER ANSWERS
I MUST FIND ALONE
I KNEW THEY WERE NEVER
NEVER AT HOME

BREAK
RUN A WAY TURN A WAY (2X)
RUN A WAY TURN A WAY RUN A WAY TURN A WAY RUN A WAY (2X)
